The carnival season kicks off in Frederick County in June and continues through mid-August. Most carnivals have rides, some have parades and all have good food and entertainment. Carnivals are still major attractions. They are one of the few summer traditions remaining!

Carnivals give communities the opportunity to support their local fire / rescue organizations. Carnivals run for a week from Monday through Saturday nights with the exception of Libertytown VFC. Their hosting several Festival Days instead. The corporations have flyers around the county advertising their daily activities.

It is a great family atmosphere. It is a great place to catch up with neighbors and friends who make the track out each year to support their local companies. It is a great way to learn about our service and what volunteering opportunities are available.

Attached is the 2019 schedule for our carnival season.

As in the past, please continue your support. Without your assistance, the volunteers would not be able to provide the wonderful services we have for our citizens.

If you are interesting in volunteering, please sign up at

We look forward to seeing you around, rain or shine!
