| If there is one thing the pandemic has taught us, it’s that our first responders are a vital part of our communities. Today, Wendesday, October 28, 2026 is National First Responders Day. National First Responders Day was first recognized by the United States Congress in 2017. Since then, October 28th has served as the date for the country to celebrate the 25 million brave men and women who make it their business to take action when disaster strikes. Oftentimes, the very same people who are putting their lives at risk are our neighbors, friends, community members, or family. This day honors the brave men and women who put other lives ahead of their own when they step out onto the frontlines. From our paramedics, EMTs, firefighters, and police officers, to our 911 dispatchers and medical personnel, we are blessed with extraordinarily courageous individuals, committed to protecting others despite risks to their own health and safety. In today’s unprecedented times, their dedication has not wavered, and we are forever indebted. We hope you will consider volunteering with our organization to become a first responder. |
