The Frederick County Fire & Rescue Museum will open for the 2023 museum season this Saturday, April 15, 2023. The museum will be open each weekend until the end of September from 12 noon until 4PM. We are fortunate to have on display the recently rehabbed 1876 Silsby Hose Reel believed to be the original hose reel purchased by the Junior Fire Company as the companion of the 1876 Sislby steamer. The hose reel was located several years ago at a local antique store. When the authenticity was determined that the reel was most likely the original Silsby companion hose reel, the Junior Fire Company purchased the reel. Jim Deater spearheaded the project to rehab the unit including the metal work.

At this time the 1939 Ahrens-Fox is out of service, however, efforts are being made to have other motorized apparatus displayed in it's place. The museum will be closed Memorial Day and all holiday weekend.
