| 100 Years Ago Tuesday November. 24, 1925 Fire this morning early wrecked brick houses on West Sixth street belonging to Frank V. Staub and occupied by several families, and damaged four adjoining frame structures, owned by Mrs. Johanna Brightwell. The fire broke out at about 2 o’clock this morning, and spread rapidly through the brick dwellings. The three fire companies responded. Several hundred persons responded to the alarm.
Anonymous Fire companies from three states, including three Frederick County fire companies, were battling a multi-alarm blaze at Blue Ridge Rod and Gun Club just off U.S. 340 across the Maryland line in Loudoun County, Va. Area firemen were busy throughout the weekend as they answered five other house fire calls, a hay fire and a woods fire. |
