| Health Department Announces Rabies Vaccination Clinics FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick County Health Department (FCHD) is offering two rabies vaccination clinics in 2026. The first one is on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Old National Pike Park (12406 Old National Pike, Mt. Airy, MD 21771). This clinic will run from 10 AM-1 PM. The second clinic will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Thurmont Community Park (19 Frederick Road). The Thurmont clinic will be from 2-4:30 PM. The clinics will be held rain or shine on a walk-in basis. Each vaccination is $10 and payable by cash or check only (no debit or credit cards). All dogs, cats, and ferrets 12 weeks old or older are welcome. Last year, more than 300 animals were vaccinated at FCHD’s two clinics. “The most effective way to protect your pets from getting rabies is by getting them vaccinated,” said Alicia Evangelista, FCHD’s Program Manager for Environmental Health Community Services and Development Review. “Last year, the Health Department had two successful clinics with many pets vaccinated and this year we look forward to providing vaccines again for the community.” For additional information about this vaccination clinic or general rabies information, please contact 301-600-1717 or visit the health department's rabies page. |
