The first day of school is August 23rd and we have low student enrollment this year.
If you have or know of anyone that's interested in getting some good training, either company volunteer member in need of classes or High school student please have them enroll.
If they are not a member of a company yet, let us know and we have companies that will support them through the program.
The Frederick County Fire & Rescue Services Internship Program is offered to high school juniors and seniors by Frederick County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Services.
OR, a any member of a volunteer of a fire/rescue company AND Passes a Frederick County Fire Department (NFPA 1582) physical.
Students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the Frederick County Public Safety Training Facility.
Students that are under the age of 18 are required to receive permission from their High School Work – Based Learning Coordinator and/or fire/rescue company chief.
Classes will be held Monday thru Friday at the Public Safety Training Facility from 12:00 pm to 3:00pm and will follow the Frederick County Public School calendar to accommodate for holidays and school closings.

This year's program will start with an orientation/GEAR UP this includes NIMS, CPR, TIMS, Trooper 3, ECC tour, PPE and SCBA starting August 24th – ending September 8th.
Emergency Medical Responder will start September 11th and run through November 17th.
Haz/Mat Ops will run from November 20th through December 8th.
Firefighter 1 begins December 11th and ends March 15th
We are considering finishing out the year with Firefighter 2 and Safety and Survival to end the class in early May. |
