At a special meeting of the Mayor and Council of Brunswick on Tuesday evening, attended by four members of the Council, with Mayor Moler presiding, and the special committee appointed by the Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company several weeks ago, the former virtually granted the latter’s request for a building site in the town on the south side of East Potomac street, east of First avenue, with 120 feet frontage on East Potomac street. Present plans of the firemen call for a building two stories in height, of frame and brick construction, with adequate quarters on the first floor to house and store the fire apparatus and all equipment owned and used by the firemen.
The cost is estimated to be around $10,000.
IN OTHER NEWS THAT DAY:
Automobiles parked in front of fire plugs badly handicapped the firemen Wednesday night when they responded to the alarm from the store of Storm and Shipley. So bad were the conditions that at one place the firemen had to push several machines out of the way before they could get to the hydrant.
