| The Frederick County Division of Aging and Independence is conducting a feasibility study to ensure senior centers meet the evolving needs of older adults today and in the years to come. The study will look at where new senior centers might be needed and what programs should be offered. Members of the community are invited to attend sessions and complete surveys to share their input.
The Division of Aging and Independence is working with MGT, a consulting firm that specializes in working with local governments. MGT has visited all five senior centers in the county and is conducting a comprehensive assessment to help align services and facilities with the needs of Frederick's growing population. Attached to this email, you will find a flyer about the upcoming senior center feasibility study/community engagement sessions that we are organizing.
Our goal is to reach as many individuals as possible for these sessions, and I 'd like to ask your assistance in helping to spread the word. We are particularly looking for input from older adults, caregivers, family members, and anyone who might be a senior in the next 10+ years and could potentially use a senior center.
The feedback we gather from these sessions will play a critical role in shaping the future of 50+ senior centers in Frederick County. MGT who has already met with community leaders, senior center supervisors, and is reviewing the current services and facilities. Now, it's time for us to hear directly from the public.
We have planned a series of town hall-style meetings at various locations throughout Frederick County. For those who are unable to attend in person, we will also be offering virtual sessions to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate. Additionally, we will be providing both online and hard copy surveys for community members to share their input. The surveys will be available one week after the community engagement sessions conclude. Online surveys can be accessed at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/DAI, and hard copies will be available at all 50+ senior centers.
Your support in promoting these sessions is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help and assistance with this initiative.
