Did you know nearly 1800 dedicated volunteers are on the front lines of fire and rescue service in Frederick County?  Did you know that nearly 800 of these dedicated men and women are Operational volunteers?  We are neighbors helping neighbors – and we would like YOU to join us!  Our twenty-four departments have immediate openings for Firefighters, Emergency Medical Clinicians (EMT's), Administrative and Auxiliary volunteers. 

Once you become a volunteer, all training is free.  Frederick County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services has always been a fore leader that sets standards of excellence for firefighting, emergency medical services and community service. More important is the fact that with quality people and the county government’s support we are poised for an exciting future.

As a volunteer, you may be required to perform a large variety of tasks. These tasks are very diverse and may include:

• Emergency Medical Services
• Rescue and care of victims
• Hazardous materials containment
• Fire prevention / Community Risk Reduction, and
• Community service

We urge you to consider volunteering -- not just for the exciting or glamorous aspects but to gain good customer service skills too.
